It rained for four years, eleven months and two days, marking the doomed fate of the town.
Latin American magical realism showed the unreal as something ordinary. Gabriel García Márquez created Macondo, a town in which the unchecked progress brought by the Banana Company led it to lose its roots and culture. The rain marks Macondo's total destruction and catastrophe, an eternal decay until its total disappearance.
I represent its isolation, solitude and nostalgia for what was in a dreamy atmosphere.

As usual, I started by dyeing fabric for my project
And machine-quilted the background


Finally, I fused and sewed the appliquéd images
