Threads of History (Work in Progress)

This allegorical work represents History as a thread. There were and still are tyrants, dictators who think they can rule history all by themselves, through their all-powerful megalomania. But History is woven differently from their will, and can be unraveled at any moment.
Two knitting sticks were painted in black, and from this messy knitting hangs the thread that the character holds in his hand. I started with an image modified on Photoshop, printed on Spoonflower, repainted and stamped with various stencils. Other fabrics complete the figure, taken from my leftovers from previous projects. All mounted on a thick felt triangle. The necklace is crocheted metal. Finally, the spool lies on the floor, but I leave myself the possibility of arranging the thread differently at each exhibition, depending on my feelings how the History twill turn out.
