The theme Nature is right up my alley. I have a large stash of nature inspired fabrics.
Ranging from flowers to foliage, animals, birds and butterflies. Plus all sorts of mottled, stained or dotted fabrics that can resemble foliage the forest floor or anything I think of.
I like to use printed fabrics for my collages. I fussy cut them and arrange them on my base of quilters' batting. I use a lot of pins!
Then I stitch everything to the background. This is what it looks like from the back.
When everything is stitched down I add even more stitching in more colours to accentuate certain parts like the birds' feathers etc. When I am happy I add the backing and... stitch some more!
The last , rather scary thing , was adding the sun rays with a Paintstick.
