I have not had much experience working in three D. And I really feel I didn't explore it properly this time. However, I made an effort and am happy with the results.
I was in my studio thinking about the challenge when I noticed a whole bunch of scraps in my trash. I make 6 X 8 small quilts using fabric and a heavy stabilizer. They are made oversized and then trimmed to size. The "cutoffs" were just lying in the trash. I said to myself, what would happen if I sewed them together. So that is what I did. I used a zig zag stitch and joined them together. I like the colorful result and the odd shape that resulted.
Now each time I make a collection of small quilts, after trimming I add them to the piece. It has been growing.
I'm not sure how it will end up, but I am enjoying seeing it grow and develop!
