THE ELEMENTS - Teresita Leal

The complexity of the interaction between nature and mankind makes me think of strength and contrasts, like the calm beauty of a sunset or a devastating explosion.

All of this is present In my piece, as well as the four elements, air, fire, earth, and water.

Again, the technique I use is raw edge appliqué of carefully chosen fabric scraps making my way through color and value.

My fabrics are some commercial cotton prints but mostly hand-dyed cotton since it is hard to get them where I live.
