I love wandering in the gardens in Assiniboine Park, a city park here in Winnipeg. Of particular interest is the lily pond. I was lucky one day to be able to photograph this little frog sitting on a water lily pad.
The colours were so vibrant and the contrasts wonderful!
This is the initial stage of the development of my art. Stitching and quilting still to come!
Here is the finished quilt - 24" W x 18"H (60.96 cm x 45.7 cm). There is a sheer fabric over the centre area to represent water on the waterlily and the reflections in the water were stitched with metallic thread for a touch of sparkle.
