My architecture piece is based on a photo from a trip to Monchau, Germany a few years ago. The white stucco buildings with their old wooden timbers were so picturesque. I had been longing to use this picture for a quilt for quite awhile.
I interpreted my village "in the style" of Friedensrich Hundetwasser, an Austrian artist that I admire. I used an unusual color palette to brighten up the scene. I hope you get to visit the village someday, and note the resemblance!
